Listen to Daily Prayers

Daily Prayers Explanation

“Seven times a day do I praise thee” (Psalm 119:164) is the original basis for praying throughout the day.  The Jewish practice of saying prayers seven times a day was adopted by early Christians during the first century.  The system developed gradually, but had already achieved what was to become its definitive form of praying every 3 hours by the mid-sixth century, when it was incorporated into the rule of St. Benedict.  Many Christians today find great comfort when practicing this discipline of prayer.
